Sooo....

Wow...really...its been December/January since I have posted anything on here. Pretty much because I have a great new way of doing it on Shutter-fly.
Our class website is http://www.hamiltonskinders.shutterfly.com if you would like to catch up on anything we did the second semester.
It was hard to keep this blog going since our school system blocked ANYTHING that had to do with bloggers or blogs. Shutter-fly was my only answer!
:)
Thanks for understanding!

  1. Hi Jennie! You posted a comment over on my blog about my Sharing Program (A Teeny Tiny Teacher). I used to have Shining Star (student of the week) which I would announce on Friday before their week. My Shining Star actually got to share something each day and I usually had them share right after our Calendar time before we went back to our seats. But our ACTUAL SHARING PROGRAM has always been right after lunch and the Shining Star thing never interfered. Typically, the Shining Star would say they were having a "Double Whammy" day if it was also their Sharing Day.

I loved doing Shining Star but when my numbers went up to 32, I didn't have enough weeks in the school year! Especially with a revolving door! I was sad to let it go. :( Just in case you're interested, my Shining Star program looked like this:

Monday: bring 10 photos and cover page to share
Tuesday: bring 5 special items from home
Wednesday: bring the Secret Box and clues
    Thursday: bring the Estimation Jar
Friday: bring a special guest or a special book for me to read (parents LOVED this and usually gave a 20 minute presentation about their career or culture. I can't believe all of the fun careers we were exposed to! We had rocket scientists, police officers, nurses, car salesmen, auctioneers, chefs, computer analysts, etc. So much fun!)

I had a special bulletin board above my cubbies that was my Shining Star board and I would hang the pictures and cover sheet from clips up there. And then there special items would go in the "Me Museum" on top of the cubbies.

I got a denim bag from Michael's and ironed on "Shining Star" and then I put a folder with directions, a box, a jar, and our classroom bear into the bag which then got sent home on Fridays. (this is provided all of the stuff was returned on Friday from the current Shining Star but I almost never had a problem)

I have EVERYTHING saved on my computer if you're interested. No pressure, though! :)

    Thanks for stopping by, though!
